Inspiration
Inspired by personal anecdotes from during and after COVID-19, we wanted to create a walking app with game-like features to motivate cosy gamers like us. Combining the fun and cuteness of games like Pokemon Go and Neko Astume, Bunny Runny brings a new take on walking.
What it does
Bunny Runny is an app that tracks your steps while giving you a fun incentive to get active!
How we built it
The prototype is made on Figma. We plotted out how we wanted the overall app to look and the elements that would be on each page. Then we moved onto drawing the graphics in procreate and adding in these elements onto the pages.
Challenges we ran into
Well…an initial challenge we had was that none of the members knew anything about coding, but then we were introduced to Figma. This allowed us to complete our prototype with minimal code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud we completed a somewhat working prototype and were able to include so many cute and cosy vibes throughout the user experience. We believe cosy gamers that need a little push to get up and moving would love this app.
Also the bunnies are just very cute :). Thanks to our graphics manager @doufupuff on instagram.
What we learned
Through this experience, we dismantled our preconceptions that solving the problem is often the hardest part, learning that it is actually finding the problem that is often harder. We also learnt how to use new software such as Figma and communicate better as a team.
What's next for Bunny Runny
There is a lot of potential for Bunny Runny. In the completed version of this prototype, we plan on adding a friend system where you can see your friend’s rabbit collections. Additionally, we plan on adding a more complex storyline which can be unlocked through more walking! This would provide greater incentive for being active.
