Inspiration

Students need better sleep for college.

What it does

It tracks one's sleep quality based on the amount of motion detected and records the environmental factors such as noise level, humidity, temperature, and ambient light. The device turns off its display for power saving. Simply tap to turn on display. You may also pause the recording by tapping again.

How we built it

We figured out what sensors we need and put them together on a perf board. We designed the circuit and solder female headers for each component so that they are easily replaceable. We then designed a case on TinkerCAD to house this project. We spent the rest 12 hours coding it.

Challenges we ran into

Having to solder and wire so many components. Took us 5 hours of soldering.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made a complete product that has a very neat UI and provides a lot of environmental stats to the user.

What we learned

We learned a lot about how some of the complicated sensors work, such as gesture sensor and motion sensor

What's next for SleepTrack

To add WiFi or BLE feature to the device and basically productize it.
