Inspiration
Travelling in Serbia by motorcycle.
What it does
Basically , while you are riding, it tells you the directions just like a GPS assistant, but through vibrations.
How we built it
We send directions from a mobile phone to an arduino via a Bluetooth shield. The arduino controls the vibration egines.
Challenges we ran into
First of all , getting directions requires heavy computations and lots of linear algebra knowledge. We have currently some issues with the Here Maps sdk, but they will soon be fixed. The next challenge is to create a protocol for communication between the phone and the arduino.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We'll tell you about that soon enough.
What we learned
Teamwork and dedication solve issues. Lacking sleep and being frustrated don't.
What's next for SmartHelm
A cool demo, hopefully... plus some additional functionality.
