🚀 What Inspired Us

The idea for SmartProp was born from watching friends and family struggle with property management - juggling multiple listing platforms, drowning in paperwork, and losing money during lengthy vacancy periods. Property owners were using outdated tools that forced them to work harder, not smarter. We decided to build the solution we wished existed.

We started with a traditional tech stack approach - React.js frontend, Node.js backend, PostgreSQL database, and AWS infrastructure. Our development process included extensive user research with 50+ property owners, MVP development, beta testing, and iterative improvements.

However, after our initial build, we realized we needed to pivot our approach to create a more dynamic and user-friendly experience. That's when we decided to rebuild SmartProp on bolt.new - leveraging its rapid development capabilities to create a more intuitive interface and streamlined user experience that better matched our vision.
