Inspiration

Recycling sorting bins are an important part of saving our planet's beauty. By separating recyclable materials, we help to maintain the natural beauty of our world for future generations and save Earth's resources. However, selecting the right bin can be challenging. That's why we created Smitnyk - to make recycling easier for everyone.

What it does

Our device automatically sorts waste into the correct bin based on its type, making it more efficient than relying on humans.

What we learned

We improved such skills as:

problem-solving: we had to come up with ideas to solve our problems and think creatively, we created solutions for unexpected challenges
teamwork: we learned how to communicate with a group of people effectively
time management: we prioritized tasks and managed to fit into the given time limit prototyping: learned how to develop prototypes quickly
presentation: we found out how to correctly prepare our pitch
