SmoFree

Inspiration

Our app is inspired by the 4.9 million smokers who aspire to quit but struggle to do so.

What it does

Our app provides support to users in their efforts to quit smoking by helping them track their progress, utilizing the shake off feature to overcome cravings, and fostering a sense of community. Additionally, we offer cash back rewards for those who successfully abstain from smoking for one month.

How we built it

We developed our app using React Native, TypeScript, and Expo. User sessions and authentication were implemented using Clerk's API, and the shake detection feature was built using Expo's native accelerometer SDK. Our prototype was designed with Figma.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in trying to integrate AI, VR, or metaverse, as they proved to be highly time-consuming and difficult to implement.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of having developed a functioning app, coming up with a new idea, working collaboratively as a team, and dedicating ourselves to the project.

What we learned

We learned how to create a prototype and develop a product.

What's next for SmoFree

Our next step for SmoFree is to create a smart bot that can provide personalized plans, daily check-ins, and advice to help smokers successfully quit.
