Inspiration

A lot of kids lost a lot of social time during the pandemic. This loss of interaction inspired me to create this app.

What it does

The app allows kids to meet other kids that have similar interests to them.

How I built it

I used Xcode and SwiftUI to make the app

Challenges we ran into

Because I'm new to coding, I didn't know how to use a lot of the different features. The main features I had problems with was MapView and NavigationView. I couldn't get the Map to load onto the home page and that took a few tries. For NavigationView, it wasn't loading to the right page when I clicked on a button.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of the app as a whole because this is my first solo app that I have done. I am now more confident in SwiftUI and hope to apply these skills in the future.

What we learned

I learned about different aspects of SwiftUI like MapView, NavigationView, and TabView.

What's next for Socializer

Currently, the accounts are hardcoded, so I hope to use Firebase for login and account management. I also want to make a way to text a person you share interests with. I am also hoping to work with different school districts to make the app server limited to the kids in the district
