Inspiration

As an active road user, I often feel that trips take unnecessarily long, sometimes running into multiple red lights in a single trip. I believe this is on account of the suboptimal GPS that almost all drivers use.

What it does

Unlike traditional GPS, we plan to incorporate a trip planning feature that takes into account traffic light states. This helps to provide the user with a matchless route such that they will run into fewer red lights and arrive at their destination as soon as possible ASAP.

How we built it

We stuck to our python and javascript routes using simple python logic and javascript magic to create the brains of our operation including the Traffic light detector and Pattern Recognition. That was all then applied in conjunction with our website-building skills that allowed us to make use of HTML, CSS, and JS to display our data in a very user-friendly way.

Challenges we ran into

~the team name~ Coordinating our work schedules especially since it's our holidays and many of us are busy on weekdays. However, we came around to it and managed to find time where we all could discuss in detail our solution.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The Cohesion and energetic attitude of our team. We managed to work together with each other to bring you something we are proud and confident of.

What we learned

To schedule meetings and spread out work efficiently and in a meaningful way

What's next for SoEnviroFri

We plan on bringing the technology used for SoEnvirofri to other countries, integrating it with their road systems which may vary greatly from that of the urban landscape present in Singapore.
