Inspiration

We had some ideas prior to the hackathon, and we took those ideas we had and expanded upon them. We first had the idea of a top down action game, and then we decided we go for a generic fantasy aesthetic. Then we had the idea when brainstorming our main character to change into more of a somber, gothic fantasy world, with our main character being a ghost inhabiting a suit of armor, for the soul purpose of defending a graveyard.

What it does

It is a fun action RPG, in which you control our ghost in the suit of armor by using the WASD keys and mouse. It will hopefully be a fun game to play.

How we built it

We programmed it in Unity, using the C# language.

Challenges we ran into

We overestimated the scope of the game, and had to cut down on the features we wanted to get done.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I think we did very well considering the time we had, and I feel like this is a good base for a future full game.

What we learned

We need to continue to improve our skills so we can work through the beginning stages faster, and map out our time more accurately.

What's next for Soul Purpose

We will hopefully complete our demo at some point, and if we get that far, we will probably try and complete and release it as a full game on an online store such as itch.io or Steam.
