Inspiration
Prompt for the hackathon provided clear guidance around the space tourism use case. While it wasn't strictly required, I pursued this app idea. The design of the site was loosely inspired by the JetBlue ticket booking system.
What it does
Uses the Rapyd suite of APIs to collect large (>$100,000) payments from international bank accounts to manage a space tourism business.
How we built it
Angular front end with express backend and materialize components. The backend is hosted on Heroku and front end on Vercel. The database is SQLite for speed.
Challenges we ran into
Initially misunderstood the prompt and created hosted checkout pages with Rapyd before changing to use virtual account numbers.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Refund capability and overall ease of use.
