Inspiration

"SpaceQueens bridges environmental conservation with a space theme, highlighting the paradox of rockets: leaders in space exploration yet significant CO2 emitters. Designed to be interactive and educational for all ages, it aims to raise awareness about greenhouse gas reduction in a captivating way."

What It Does

"SpaceQueens is a comprehensive web app featuring a responsive design, realistic rocket physics, an AI chatbot educated in physics and emissions reduction, and tools like a CO2 rocket cost and emissions calculator, along with a detailed rocket component library."

How We Built It

"We developed SpaceQueens using React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS for the frontend. 'Takei,' our virtual professor, leverages OpenAI's GPT-3.5-turbo, and our browser-accessible game engine for the rocket launcher is built entirely in JavaScript."

Challenges We Ran Into

"Our journey included resolving initial disagreements on the project idea, learning Blender for 3D modeling, and integrating these models with our frontend and physics backend. We also navigated through the challenges of merge conflicts and version control."

Accomplishments We're Proud Of

"We're proud of creating a fully functional webpage, developing a responsive AI chatbot, crafting self-made 3D models, and achieving an accurate physics engine that adds depth and realism to the SpaceQueens experience."

What We Learned

"Our journey with SpaceQueens has been enriching, teaching us 3D modeling with Blender, integrating these models into a React-based tech stack, and effectively handling merge conflicts in a collaborative environment."

What's Next for SpaceQueens

"Looking ahead, SpaceQueens plans to expand its CO2 calculator for broader applications, enhance 3D models and environments, and enrich our content library to offer a more immersive and educational experience in space exploration and environmental awareness."
