Inspiration
- We started from the insight that venues are a scarce resource, particularly for emerging artists.
- Major institutions may intimidate, or be otherwise inaccessible to, the general public.
- Securing funding for new projects is another major challenge for emerging and established artists.
- There are lots of un-administered sites that could be claimed for this initiative.
Problem statement
How can we empower artists to find, claim and fund site-specific artworks and the creative process? How can we encourage and facilitate the local community to get behind them?
What it does
SpaceShifter is a Public Art Network which uses blockchain technology for anonymous artists to find spaces and create site-specific art. Find out more and explore wireframe prototype in our presentation.
How we built it
The product only exists as an idea at the moment. We have prepared a pitch deck with wireframes, and a very simple prototype of the AR component. We have also explored the DAOstack and other technology, and included some code.
