Inspiration

We wanted to make a system for guiding people without the need for them to touch their phone. Did you ever want to help someone on the phone without waiting for the other person on the phone to do it? Did you just wish that instead of watching how to cook on a video you could listen your mom teaching you ? Speak.Do is an app that uses NLP to convert your voice memos into step by step tasks and lets you send and receive those tasks. The use-cases can vary from recipes and reminders to detailed step by step instructions to repair a PC!!. It is simply turn by turn navigation applied to DIY

Challenges I ran into

We faced issue with the web sockets in python, though we had the script running in IBM Bluemix, it was working on html not on iOs, We later on realized that there is a problem with socket-IO module with multi-threaded applications, only to end up using pusher. Due to time constraints we could not implement the Pusher API completely in our project.

What I learned

This being our first Hackathon, it was a wonderful experience

What's next for Speak.Do

We plan to make the app smarter in many ways which would require surely more then 24hours that we got in this Hackathon.
