A new way to split bills with your friends and track who owes who

Inspiration

We were initially inspired by a recent argument our friend group had over splitting a bill and keeping track of who owes who.

What it does

It scans the receipt and itemizes it so you can split things with your friend.

How we built it

We utilized React-Native for the front end, Supabase for the backend and user auth, and google gemini to scrape information off the receipts.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was trying to find an ocr that worked and was efficient at processing information.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was our first time using react-native and we think that we did pretty good on adapting to it. It was also our first time using any ocr and the fact that we were able to get it to work was amazing.
