Spyware Detection

Inspiration

Cybersecurity has always been a passion of ours and we want to create a safe environment for users online and in most sensitives data spaces.

What it does

This app protects customers from spyware by scanning files for potential malicious activity. We also intended to create a background feature which allows the app to run without being open to detect any forms of spyware by analyzing the different ways that spyware enters the phone (camera, downloads, etc.)

How we built it

We built this app using Java in Android Studio, and created the mockup using Figma.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into was thinking of the practicality of the app in terms of how convenient this kind of app would be to users.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learned more about how to use and work with Android Studio using the different SDK libraries. We were also able to create an elaborate mock up using Figma to best simulate how our app would behave in different situations.

What we learned

We learned more about creating cybersecurity solutions more on Android platforms and accessing different parts of the android environment to enable more secure security features on the android

What's next for Spyware Detection

We intend to fix the different bugs of the program and look more into accessing different parts of the Android environment to create a more secure data space for our users.
