This is a website that tells you about and lets you interact with data regarding poverty and starvation.
How we built it
We built this is VS Code using HTML and CSS (though the CSS didn't really work). Since none of us have done much of this type of coding before we had AI help us (see section at the end, screenshots available if desired but not available here.) We also used Flourish.Studio to make interactive charts.
Challenges we ran into
Trying to find a way to make interactive videos was hard. We didn't really know what we were looking for but after discovering flourish we were able to compromise well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The Spinning globe and video we think are our proudest parts.
What we learned
We learned alot about writing html. We can comfortably say we could make a very basic website now which is improvement.
What's next for Starvation(#29)
We want to continue spreading awareness and try possibly raise money for the cause.
AI tools Screenshotted Gemeni Used for help with set up and explaining plan and code needed to learn
Used for setting up Live Share and Live Server(Live Server may be needed to run
Once we had created Data graphs on Flourish we had to imbed them using html imbed which we used gemeni to get initial help on: “
” We then used it to help with the CSS but unfortunately nothing in there worked likely do to us already putting creative commands in the html: We had issues making the files fit the screen:We did not learn how to make a user interface because we couldn’t remember from the HTML Block so we asked it to make the starting one and then edited it and redesigned it from the template while mixing in our own concepts
Finally after working on the project from separate computers we combined them all using the gemeni to make it one file I could edit. Oh and we made a cool logo using AI Finally we also used it for things like how to download VS Code, record audio on Audacity, and other things but we figured that wouldn’t be necessary to Screenshot but please let us know if this is not the case.
