STeams

Inspiration

This project is inspired by Microsoft Teams. We wanted to create an open-source alternative to Teams which specialized in extra study-tool utilities.

What it does

STeams features classrooms, but unlike Teams, its assignments link up to a custom to-do list with time organization.

How we built it

We made STeams with Svelte.js, Flask, and SQLAlchemy.

Challenges we ran into

Our backend is relatively prototypical right now, still issues needed to be resolved.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our frontend is relatively polished and functional.

How to use Flask, SQLAlchemy, and Svelte.js better for web applications and backend databases.

What's next for STeams

In our planning docs, we had a lot of ideas written down for STeams, including a calendar-like schedule, study timer linking to the todo, and more. We also want to debug our backend database code.
