The Prompt: Develop a solution that assists in space exploration or technology
What it does
Organizations are given the ability to request help and feedback from experts on various topics and projects. These experts can explore projects that the organizations are undergoing and provide much-needed insights into them. Organizations can opt to thank helpful contributors via monetary donations. In signing up, the process of verifying organizations and experts is conducted by AI, ensuring that all users of the site are heavily vetted. Our aim is that Stellar Exchange will serve as the internet's best tool for cosmic discoveries.
How we built it
We built our website via the platform Replit. We used html for the brunt of the code (content), PHP for the functionalities (saving data to the Repl database), and CSS to style the html (appearances).
Challenges
This was our first hackathon, so the entire process for us was one of continual discovery and rewriting our work. We didn't initially know how to store the data, so we had to do a great deal of research to discover PHP and the repl database. We had trouble coming up with a concept because none of us had very much experience in these coding languages as well as in the Space technology field. Therefore, we resolved on the human-focused aspect of the field.
Accomplishments that we're proud of + what we learned
We were ultimately able to apply a basic "create account", "create post", and "reply to post" functionality where the website can recall that information and apply it on other pages. We're proud of this accomplishment because we went in without knowing how to do this.
What's next for Stellar Exchange
In the future, we will implement an AI model to verify organizations and professionals.
