Revolutionary tool for students to secretly cheat in classrooms without getting caught

Inspiration

Building for a friend who likes using ChatGPT in class but ended up getting caught. The solution was a tool that is stealthy/useful and so we decided to go with chrome web extensions that allows us to display small window and interactive floating widget.

What it does

The name is stickynotesAI but we ended up having no time to have any AI implemented. The basics functionality allows you to toggle the visibility of the widget with hotkeys, add sticky notes, preview saved notes. That's pretty much it.

How we built it

We used Github copilot agent Claude Sonnet 4 about 90% in this project... It was a boring task for us prompt the model a gazillion times for some features to be built. As the end was near I did some polishing work and make the colour theme better and added some human touches to it. An artwork with pixel art animations to make the widget feels more alive.

Challenges we ran into

  • Writing plain english to get some features implemented without bugs. Maybe 10k+ words? for total prompt? IDK?

What we learned

  • We learned writing clear instructions while prompting is important.
  • We learned how to complete a project even though this project was really bad.
