Inspiration
Women owned businesses are growing by a rate of 5%. We are here to support and foster a community of small business leaders, both locally and globally. _ stitched together _ strives to be a place where we can thread a strong community where you will feel encouraged and supported. We want to help you through the challenges and celebrations of starting a small business, or the next large corporation!
What it does
Our app has various features to further our mission of developing a supportive community of local and global female entrepreneurs. Once you are logged in, you have access to your profile where you can share your message and goals with the community. On the connect page, you can share your struggles, successes, or knowledge with your community. You have the opportunity to share your posts with either your local or global community. On the resources page, we have connections to different groups and grants that you have the opportunity to apply for. Finally, on the progress tracker page, we want to help you craft your perfect business. This is a step by step guide to help you through any step of the process. You can check off your progress to help with organization, or receive more information about each step. stitched together is here to create a positive impact on the next female entrepreneurs through connections, resources, and guides.
How we built it
We built this app using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. _ stitched together _ uses the Google Firebase for our databases and authentication. We also implemented the Bootstrap library for support with our CSS and Javascript.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we ran into was using Google Firebase. We were both unfamiliar with using authentication, but wanted to experiment with it for this project. It took a lot of research, but we were able to accomplish it. We also used Firestore with our discussion board, which also took a lot of research and struggles.
Accomplishments that we are proud of
We are proud of creating a welcoming community for all women interested in starting a business. The design and branding is something we are very excited about because it feels so inviting and encouraging. All of our features were created with our user in mind.
What's next for stitched together
The next step for stitched together include further implementing Google Firebase. We would like to expand our social aspect of our app to include more interactions and more detailed profile. We believe that community to so important, so our goal is to improve the connections you feel when you use our app.
