Inspiration
I am sick of doing mental math, subtracting future expenses from my bank app to get my true disposable income. I am also sick of worrying that I will not meet my expenses and goals.
What it does
It literally transfers money, via ACH, from someones account to my stripe account, then vice versa.
How we built it
We used Vue.js for the frontend, Firebase for the hosting and storage, and finally Stripe with Plaid for handling transations.
Challenges we ran into
Making the API's play together, getting the Stripe server component operational, and handling Facebook's OAuth were all challenges we encountered.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the user interface of our app, and the ease of use!
What we learned
This was the first foray into Firebase in a project for both of us, TJ's first usage of anything Stripe related, and Casey's first time using Vue.js.
What's next for StoAway
We have a bit of polish to add, many more payment methods to support, and a variety of funding techniques to adopt before we can consider this project complete!
