Sustainable Development Goal 9 : Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
We were inspired from how companies uses technology to track their inventories and want to suggest an efficient alternative for this, using automatic approach.
We understand that the process of inventory procurement, tracking, and sales can be daunting and requires significant technological resources. To address this, our app streamlines all of these processes into a single platform, making it simpler and more efficient for our manufacturers to manage their inventory from ordering to sales.
Recognizing the limited adoption of inventory tracking on mobile phones, our aim is to revolutionize the industry by seamlessly integrating mobile devices, providing convenient on-the-go access for inventory management.
What it does
Manage Inventory: This feature allows users to track their inventory ( SKU, current status, cost, etc.) and add new products in their inventory ( enabling efficient barcode scanning capabilities).
Inventory Report: This feature collects and analyze data, integrating advanced algorithm to generate comprehensive reports that provides insights on: stock repurchase points, sustainability metrics, and product sales performance. Identify Stock Repurchase Points: This feature collect and analyze historical data from previous weeks and years simultaneously, then employs predictive algorithms to identify optimal stock repurchase points, streamlining the reordering process. Helping clients minimizing stockout and maximizing operational efficiency.
*Sustainability Metrics: * This feature collects sustainable metrics from sourcing companies, encompassing factors such as environmental impacts, ethical sourcing practices, etc. Further establish sustainability frameworks based on the country that company resides and evaluate the sustainability of these sourcing companies to assess if a certain company meets predefined sustainability criteria. In cases when a sourcing company falls short, our feature offers alternative companies with more ethical practices.
Sales Report: These features analyze product sales performance, providing users with valuable insights into customers and demand patterns.
Connecting with Stakeholders: This feature allows seamless communication and collaboration among users, suppliers, transporters, internal teams within companies, as well as customers and distributors. Additionally offer valuable add-on features such as ability to make purchases directly ( usage of blockchain technology to enable Smart Contract between parties).
Transportation Trackers: This feature allows users to track real time updates on shipment status, enhancing overall visibility and transparency throughout the supply chain. Additionally, this feature integrates the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to seamlessly connect with sensors dedicated to product quality checking. Allow organizations to enhance the quality control process and deliver consistent, high quality products to their customers.
How we built it
UI/UX: Figma Front-End: Android Studio, Kotlin Back-End: Python, Flask, SQLite3/SQLAlchemy, Kotlin
Challenges we ran into
Lack of Time: Since we only have 2 days for this Hackathon, time is the biggest challenge for us to implement all features that we listed for our app.
Some of us are beginners in doing back-end so it takes a bit more time to learn and implement it with our app.
What we learned
Diana: Using Flasks and SQLAlchemy for backend database, and using Figma to design app interfaces
What's next for StockAhead
Website/Computer App: Although we want to make inventory tracking accessible on mobile, it is still easier to do inventory management with websites especially for large companies. Integration of Blockchain and IoT: Due to time constraints, we wouldn't be able to integrate these listed technologies Reach audiences on national and international scales: We acknowledge the significant value this app brings to companies, therefore we aim to introduce this product to the market, enabling organizations from around the world to leverage its benefits and capabilities. Partnership: We actively seek collaborations with reputable sourcing, shipping, and distributing companies to foster mutually beneficial relationships that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain. Further deliver enhanced value to our customers.
