Inspiration
In a world that continuously promotes innovation, there are still many who experience issues such as difficulties ideating or writer's block in creative writing, due to unfamiliarity with topics or a lack of inspiration. Thankfully, there are AI-generated tools that facilitate this process by closing the information gap such as chatGPT and copy.ai.
We in team Guerilla believe that more can be done to facilitate innovation, hence we developed StorySpark - a multipurpose collaborative storytelling tool for both people and businesses.
What it does
By feeding in a category and tone of your choice, as well as an image and story prompt, StorySpark generates a story that is unique to each individual, and will be published to the platform for others to view.
How we built it
Backend: Django - Hosting was done in Python Anywhere Frontend: React and Next.js - Hosting was done in Vercel External APIs: OpenAI (Chat generator and Dall-E) Prototyping and ideation: We developed a PRD and discussed what the product requirements were and used Figma to prototype the product.
Challenges we ran into
Needed to get sufficiently familiar with the framework and libraries to build the project to a usable extent Not aware of certain packages needed for cross-origin resource sharing Time crunch as we had other commitments during this period

What we learned
What's next for StorySpark
User Authentication and features - We plan to build profiles and a social system. These include likes and comments on posts, viewing others' profiles, connecting and ideation platforms. Eventually, we envision StorySpark to be the #1 AI-powered think tank.
