Inspiration
With all the distractions in our everyday world, it can be hard to focus and study. That is where the study pod is here to help.
What it does
Study pod comes with numerous features to help you study better and less stressfully these features include lo-fi music which is proven to help people focus and work calmly, Todo tasks that help you stay on top of your studies, built-in note taking which helps stay away from distractions caused by moving between different apps, and finally a note summarization tool that uses Ai to summarize your notes into a paragraph or less this helps students with memory or attention problems digest information
How we built it
The front end was built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and the back end uses Python Flask. An NLP API was also used to summarize the text.
Challenges we ran into
Our first challenge was getting the summarization feature to work since we felt this was an important feature that had to work well and be easy to use.
Our second challenge was how to design a calm and distraction-free interface for the user. We accomplished this goal through using soft colors and simplified UI.
Accomplishments that we are proud of
We are proud of how quickly we were able to put this project together and its design.
What we learned
We learned lots of things one of those being best study practices and how we could implement those into studypod
What's next for studypod.tech
In the future, we want to add built-in textbooks from big textbook providers
Spotify integration so students could play their own music right in the app
the ability for students to collaborate with other students seamlessly
