Inspiration
Mario Party is fun to play, coding is exciting, why happens if you mash the two?
What it does
An attempt at multiplayer Mario Party where the minigames are intended for coders alike.
How we built it
PixiJS for game engine Socket.io for multiplayer support Graphics drawn using Photoshop
Challenges we ran into
Knew nothing about Socket or PixiJS -- trying to build an intuition or even understand how they worked was really confusing. Also meant any debugging took a really long time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Managed to get some prototype going, which I think given the time constraint is something
What we learned
Aiming for over ambitious projects without a solid foundation leads to disappointment :(
What's next for Super Dev Party
Fix the major bugs, more minigames, smoother animation and fonts,
Built With
- gpt3
- javascript
- pixijs
- socket.io
