Inspiration

When we heard about a men in Plainville that got lost in the wild, did not know how to survive and he were found dead, we thought that app like this will prevent this.

What it does

This app is offline, it gives you survival tips, also has a build in GPS that is off-road and will be offline. Also, the GPS will reverse the road you have taken in feet.

How I built it

We have built this app through MIT app inventor, where we had to put together "blocks" in order to make the app work correctly and without glitches.

Challenges I ran into

Lots of glitches were coming up with the screen change, also MIT does not let you add some of the things to the app, there are missing components like, putting buttons wherever you want them to be, also making it offline.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We're proud that the app works correctly after spending time in class, also at home working on it and brainstorming ideas on how to improve it.

What I learned

We have learned that building apps is not easy, and there is lots of errors you run into, and you would change your ideas often.

What's next for SurvivalApp

Next we would actually want to add the actual GPS to it, also add a couple of buttons with other problems that people might encounter. Next we would want to make it go live, where we would make the "What's new" button go live and actually submit peoples idea and give them credit for them. Finally we would want to make a special email for the app in order for people to send us new ideas and many more improvements.
