Inspiration

Our inspiration for this project stems from the widespread concern we have as members of a rapidly evolving digital society. We often observe a lack of attention towards legal matters among Indonesians, despite our nation being fundamentally built on the rule of law. This foundational aspect of our society seems overlooked in the fast-paced world of social media. More critically, there is an urgent need for accessible legal support and justice for marginalized communities. We are deeply concerned that the legal system often appears more accessible to those with power and money, while ordinary, impoverished, and marginalized individuals are frequently left behind.

What it does

Our platform, SWARA, is a one-stop solution for all your legal needs, making a significant impact on individuals and communities. It provides comprehensive legal support by offering legal knowledge, resources, and assistance to individuals facing legal challenges. SWARA empowers users to bring attention to their cases through "Angkat Isu, fostering community involvement and support. Additionally, Cari Tau helps users anticipate, prepare, and navigate their legal needs, making legal information and assistance more accessible to those in need. By bridging the gap between legal resources and marginalised communities, SWARA is transforming lives, promoting justice, and fostering a more equitable society.

How we built it

Building SWARA began with identifying our core mission: to address the everyday challenges faced by communities and find effective solutions together. We discussed and determined what kind of website could be developed within a 36-hour timeframe.

We separated our team into four distinct roles: Project Manager, UI/UX Designer, Front End Developer, and Back End Developer. Each role was essential in ensuring a smooth and efficient development process. The Project Manager outlined the features that could be realistically accomplished within our timeframe. This initial planning phase was crucial for setting clear goals and expectations.

The UI/UX Designer employed the design thinking process to deeply understand user needs and pain points. By doing so, they were able to craft intuitive Hi-Fi wireframes for each page. Once a wireframe was completed, it was handed over to the frontend and backend developers for implementation. Development was carried out in parallel. The frontend team utilized Next.js as the primary tech stack, creating a responsive and dynamic user interface. Simultaneously, the backend team worked with Django REST framework and PostgreSQL to build a robust and scalable backend infrastructure

Challenges we ran into

One of the major challenges we faced was ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the legal information provided on the platform. Additionally, creating a user-friendly interface that caters to individuals with varying levels of legal knowledge was a complex task. We aimed to make the platform intuitive and engaging, ensuring that users, regardless of their legal background, could navigate it effortlessly.

Moreover, we were committed to delivering a memorable user experience. We wanted every interaction with SWARA to leave a lasting impression, reflecting our dedication to making legal support accessible and empowering for everyone. Balancing these technical and experiential elements required meticulous planning, collaboration, and a relentless focus on our users' needs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our journey with SWARA has been marked by significant achievements that resonate deeply with our mission. We've successfully developed SWARA into a comprehensive platform offering extensive legal resources and assistance, bridging the gap for marginalized communities. Through features like "Angkat Isu" and "Cari Tau," we've empowered users to highlight their cases, foster community support, and access crucial legal information with ease. Our robust tech stack, including Next.js, Django REST framework, and PostgreSQL, ensures scalability and efficiency, while our user-centric design approach guarantees an intuitive experience for all users. These accomplishments reflect our team's dedication to transforming lives, promoting justice, and creating a more equitable society through SWARA.

What we learned

During our first hackathon, we learned invaluable lessons about teamwork, collaboration, and time management. Working together for 36 hours straight to build a website pushed us to unite our ideas and skills as a team. Regardless of the project's outcome, we are immensely proud to have had the opportunity to participate in this hackathon. This experience has shown us the power of collective effort and innovation. We hope that the ideas we have developed here will continue to grow and evolve, making a lasting impact in the future.

What's next for SWARA

Moving forward, our focus with SWARA is to broaden its impact by reaching more communities across Indonesia. We are committed to enhancing the platform with advanced features, particularly AI-driven legal assistance and personalized guidance. Our goal is to empower every individual, irrespective of their background or circumstances, with accessible legal knowledge and support, thereby facilitating their pursuit of justice. This strategic direction underscores our dedication to making SWARA a pivotal resource in promoting fairness and equitable access to legal resources nationwide.
