Inspiration
1- A feedback and community application should be designed to answer some psychological impacts of different rating and feedback system, in such a way that a feedback will motivate the user to improve the things, instead of taking it as an offensive and may end up SWVL losing a potential customer
What it does
1- Community: The users you have travelled with will be part of your community, P.S. for now all the users in the systems are considered as community.
2- Friends: Users from your community which you can make friends, Our implemented solution has handled send request, accept/decline request, request waiting to approval etc.
3- Rate A User: Rate a user is one of the main feature of our community, where you can rate a user to 9 traits, that SWVL want to promote in it's community e.g. Friendly Behaviour, Cleanliness
The rating is not supposed to be 1-5 one time rating, once you rate a user, you can update your rating after a particular interval, and the final score will not be the rating average of 1-5 ratings, infact it will involve multiple factors to generate a score. i.e. Number of ratings recieved, rating weightage, number of rides taken etc.
So the end product of the rating will be a score, instead of some simple average. Conveying the message, but in a graph approach. where user will expect to start from low, and will know the areas they have to improve.
4- Report Serious Activity
How we built it
1- Select the problem 2- Focus the problem in the existing systems that we can resolve. 3- Picked boiler plates 4- Divided Team 5- Saturday night was dead line for feature implementation 6- Sunday was reserved for integration and bug fixing
Challenges we ran into
1- We got mixed up in the following and friends solution, we started from following feature, but ended up with friend. (Mixed up- Fixed) 2- How can we make the feedback non-offensive since everyone wants to be just famous, and few have courage to accept the negative feedback. (Figured out) 3- Similarly we got confused between Report and blocked feature (Mixed up - Fixed)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
1- Backend apis progress 2- Mobile app UI/UX 3- The amount of feature we implemented 4- Last but not least our idea of solving the feedback
What we learned
1- Should have spent little time in some of the activities that we did
What's next for SWVL PROBLEM 3
For Serious Threats activity we had a interesting options, like instead of calling 911 etc. we will trigger the event from our app, and SVWL moderators will take care of the rest. using the tracking feature in apps
