Inspiration

A love of interactive storytelling and expanding access to healthcare served as the impetus for SymptoChain. My goal was to develop a platform that lets people investigate their health issues in an interactive manner, akin to a dynamic narrative where each response prompts further specific inquiries. Giving people a better understanding of their symptoms was the aim, particularly in situations when accessing traditional healthcare providers is challenging.

What it does

SymptoChain is a blockchain-enabled health assistant that asks consumers a series of questions about their symptoms in order to employ artificial intelligence. It creates customized follow-up questions based on user inputs to assist in identifying any health problems. Blockchain technology gives users ownership over their information and guarantees that all user data is private and safe.

How I built it

I developed SymptoChain by fusing a decentralized blockchain architecture with an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered specialized language model (SLM). The software dynamically modifies its queries and processes user inputs using natural language processing (NLP). Users have control over who may access their data thanks to the blockchain backbone, which also guarantees that all data is stored securely. I concentrated on developing an intuitive user interface that allows users to move through the symptom questions with ease.

Challenges I ran into

Making sure the AI model could pose pertinent and insightful follow-up queries based on the user's initial symptoms was one of the biggest hurdles. Additionally, I had to guarantee that user data remained secure and confidential and that the blockchain integration went smoothly. Another problem was striking a balance between solid capability for a wide range of potential symptoms and ease of use.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I take pride in developing a system that prioritizes user privacy using blockchain technology in addition to offering value through health information. Another significant accomplishment was the dynamic, interactive experience I produced. I was able to offer a functional prototype that effectively and simply helps people navigate their health concerns.

What we learned

I discovered how to optimize security and user experience by combining blockchain technology with artificial intelligence. I also learned more about the challenges of developing a system that can manage a broad range of health-related inputs while preserving data integrity and privacy. Above all, I discovered how crucial it is to consider the user's experience when designing, particularly for healthcare applications.

What's next for SymptoChain

In order to improve the AI model's accuracy, I then intend to extend SymptoChain by incorporating more medical data sources. By integrating telemedicine capabilities, I hope to enable direct communication between patients and medical professionals via the platform. In order to increase the platform's overall utility and reach, I also intend to establish a user community where individuals may exchange experiences and insights.
