Inspiration

To combat financial insecurity for Queen’s students with a meal plan, we have developed an idea to help students sell their TAMs ("trade-a-meal" credits that allow them to get food from retail locations on campus) and recover some of the money they purchased them for. Simultaneously, we combat financial and food insecurity for students without a meal plan, providing fulfilling meals at a reasonable price.

What it does

Allows Queen’s students to sign in or register to buy or sell TAMs, with the added safety of knowing they are buying from within the Queen’s community.

How we built it

Using React (combo of Javascript, HTML, CSS) and Typescript.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating all of our parts together using Git and GitHub Desktop, and implementing Firebase.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The sign-in page, getting it up and running, and creating a multipage app in React.

What we learned

Git, React, Firebase.

What's next for TAMSACTIONS

Implementing Firebase (or any other database) to store user information and connecting with the Queen's student portal to allocate TAMs.
