Quite a hassle to stand in long checkout lines at stores. Wouldn't everyone just love to walk in, take items and leave?
What it does
This is a project that enables no-stop shopping by automatically adding products to the cart using Computer Vision. Shoppers can walk in to any store, pick up their items and leave. When they leave, the app automatically creates a digital receipt and charges the shopper form the card that is linked to their account.
How we built it
This project is built with React for frontend and Tensorflow for object detection and hand pose detection. Data Analysis for the product recommendations based on purchase history is done on the backend in Django.
Challenges we ran into
Webcam is not exactly good picture quality for object detection.
