Inspiration
The inspiration for creating this product came from the desire to help small organizations or companies communicate more effectively with different audiences. Often, individuals struggle to tailor their messages to specific groups, whether it's students, parents, or professionals. This product was designed to solve that problem by providing a simple, user-friendly tool that generates audience-specific responses. By combining intuitive design with AI-powered insights, the goal was to make it easier for anyone to connect with their target audience and express their ideas clearly and confidently.
What it does
This Adobe Express add-on, called TargetTalk, is a tool designed to help people communicate better with different groups of people, like students, parents, or professionals. It lets you type in what you want to say and choose an audience, and then it uses artificial intelligence to rewrite your message in a way that fits that audience. For example, if you're talking to gamers, it might make your message sound fun and casual, but if you're talking to executives, it will make it sound more formal and professional. It also shows you the top audiences your message might work best for, making it easier to connect with others.
How we built it
We built TargetTalk using modern web development tools like React, a popular JavaScript library for creating user interfaces, and Adobe's Creative Cloud Add-on SDK, which helps connect the tool to Adobe Express. The app has two main parts: the user interface, where you type your message and choose your audience, and the backend, which uses AI to rewrite the message for the user. We also used CSS to style the app and make it look nice, and tools like Webpack to bundle everything together so it works smoothly in a browser. Finally, we tested it to ensure it is easy to use and works well for everyone.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges we faced was making sure the app could rewrite messages in a way that fits different audiences, like students or professionals, while still sounding natural. It was also tricky to connect the app to Adobe Express using their tools and make everything work smoothly. Another challenge was designing the app to look good and be easy to use, especially when switching between light and dark modes. Finally, we had to test the app a lot to fix bugs and make sure it worked well for everyone.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a tool that makes it easy for people to communicate with different audiences in a natural and personalized way. One big accomplishment was successfully using AI to rewrite messages based on the audience, which took a lot of testing and fine-tuning. We’re also proud of designing a user-friendly interface with features like dark mode and dropdown menus, making the app both functional and visually appealing. Finally, connecting the app to Adobe Express and ensuring it works smoothly was a big achievement for our team.
What we learned
We learned a lot while building TargetTalk, especially about how to use artificial intelligence to rewrite messages for different audiences. We also learned how to design a user-friendly app that looks good and works well, like adding features such as dark mode and dropdown menus. Another important lesson was figuring out how to connect the app to Adobe Express and make sure everything runs smoothly. Finally, we learned how important it is to test the app and fix any problems so that it’s easy for everyone to use.
What's next for TargetTalk
Next for TargetTalk, we plan to add some exciting features to make it even more useful. In the future, we want to let people save their favorite rewrites for later. Later on, we’ll add support for multiple languages, like Spanish, French, and Mandarin, so more people around the world can use it. For businesses, we’re planning tools like bulk rewriting for social media posts and analytics to see which messages work best. These updates will make TargetTalk helpful for everyone, from students to big companies!
