Inspiration

Inspiration for the project came from the fact tax frauds and tax payments are not transparent. Almost many times, taxes go through a centralized authority and are at risk of tampering resulting in unreliable information being passed to tax authorities.

With our dApp, we want to decentralize the tax process and ensure tax information is transparent and secure.

What it does

The application is designed to calculate an employees tax returns and automatically populate the information on the desired tax return form.

How we built it

The dApp was built using javascript, Assemblyscript, NEAR framework, HTML, CSS and figma to design the UI.

Challenges we ran into

Frontend and backend connections. Familiarity with blockchain and its framework and languages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to learn and implement blockchain technologies such as NEAR and Ethereum. We're proud of our frontend UI and being able to implement the backend.

What we learned

Blockchain technology can be used for applications other than crytocurrency. We learned how to create dApps and different blockchain frameworks.

What's next for Taxparency

  • Include with other tax slips
  • Broaden application for use by entrepreneurs, educational institutions
  • Extend application for other uses such as donations, charities
  • Implement dApp into other countries
