Inspiration: Being an adult learner myself, I've experienced how enriching and effective Team based learning can be for my lower ability self. Team based learning does not mean self learning does not occur. Rather, the social aspect of learning comes into play and encourages everyone on the team to contribute meaningfully to the learning. This gives a well rounded experience and multiple perspectives of what the team is trying to learn. Instead of relying on just text, I prefer to combine digestion of information with infographics and video. Thus, the Kahoot! mix of team based learning game.

What it does: a gamified instruction and learning platform for both trainers and learners to design a course or learn a course by collaboration. A minimum of 2 Trainers design a course together with infographics and videos, curated or originally produced, and uses multiple choice questions(MCQs) to test learners' understanding. Learners gets stars for going through learning materials and scoring on MCQs with bonus stars to be earned in a final stage application exercise that trainers set after giving feedback to their understanding. Trainers can then discuss and award different number of stars based on their assessment of learners' input to the final solution.

How I built it: had hoped my programming undergrads team mates to build a proprietry platform for submission. But instead they did not want to build something that was a mesh up of already existing apps, therefore they abandon the challenge to focus on their school project instead. For my proof of concept, I therefore used existing web builders to try and produce the bare minimum of what I could best hope to be usable for what I had in mind.

Challenges I ran into: team mates abandonment of the hackathon at the last minute.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of: ability to turn around a submission despite my programmers bailing on me.

What I learned: never trust your software guys.

What's next for Team based learning game: make it into a viable business. adapt to other industries or professions and scale the company to exit within the next decade.
