Inspiration
Mental health issues, depression, societal insecurity...these have allegedly been on the rise in this century, especially among young people. I know I can sympathize with this issue, as I have seen it, and although solving these issues is a multifaceted endeavor, there may be one solution that is not yet widely accessible to people. Tonight, at this very Hackathon, I engaged in a philosophical discussion, a Socratic discussion, with my peers, and I found it to be some of the best therapeutic treatment I have ever received.
What it does
PhilosophAI is an AI chat-bot/terminal software that acts as a portable, easily-accessible philosopher on your browser. Trained solely through conversation with their individual users and only a few base parameters, the program learns to think like a philosopher and, most importantly, to engage its users in Socratic discussion by asking them deep questions in a polite, friendly, encouraging manner.
How we built it
This software may be built via a database (MongoDB, Bard, etc.), though this is not strictly necessary. The languages of Python, Scratch, or MIT AppInventor will likely be used to implement this project. APIs to connect software and user interfaces, such as those offered by Wolfram|One, may be used.
