Inspiration

We wanted to create a place for WPI students to buy & sell items inspired by Facebook marketplace but more niche with items WPI students frequently sell to each other. Such as Textbooks, Furniture, Toolkits, and school supplies.

What it does

Allows users to post items they want to sell, browse items available to buy and viewing your own listings. You may also filter through given tags using the marketplace sidebar. Users may login with a username (email) and password.

How we built it

We built this using Next.JS, Pocketbase, Fly.io for deployment. With components from Radix UI, Daisy UI, and Aceternity UI.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some CSS issues with the navbar and the content of the page, and also time constraints as many of us had gotten assignments over the weekend.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud for our logo and its subtle lettering. We liked our idea and how efficient we were to make our idea come into fruition.

What's next for Tech Trade

In the future we would like to use WPI SSO to verify users as WPI students. Create chatting function so that users don't have to leave the app to communicate (through email).
