Inspiration

I was inspired for this project when I was fixing my laptop. When I looked into buying a replacement display, to my shock, it costed almost as much as the device itself. When I researched deeper I found that many manufacturers didn't have replacement parts. I decided to fix this.

What it does

This is a online ecommerce platform that can evaluate your device and then help you sell it thus reducing e-waste and saving money

How we built it

I built it using: React-Native: For the Framework

Firebase: For the Database

Google Maps API: For fetching nearby repair stores

GPT-3.5-turbo: To estimate device part value

Challenges we ran into

Google Maps API ran out of credits halfway through and I didn't understand the problem for a while

Font loading didn't work with most supported library so had to switch to pulling from google

Image Carousel didn't look good/ didn't work
