Inspiration

The inspiration for our project is our desire to provide inspiration and hope to those in the same age group as us. Our group knows firsthand that most teens struggle with some aspect of their health, whether it be mental, physical, or social. Most teens struggling with health don't know where to go or what to do. Our solution is to create a space where they can find inspiration from stories and find resources to get their health back on track.

What it does

After users sign in, they can choose between four different options. One option is to view resources other users have posted that they found useful in their health journey. The other three options lead to user-posted inspirational stories in three health categories: mental, physical, and social.

How we built it

We started with making mock-up art of what our website should look like. After, we started making the website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Node.js.

Challenges we ran into

We struggled with connecting the backend to the frontend and making the login.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we figured out connecting the backend to the frontend. We are proud that we created a website from scratch.

What we learned

We learned how to code HTML and CSS. We also learned how to work as a team, giving everyone different tasks to work on and constantly checking with one another.

What's next for ThunderDen

ThunderDen is a small project that was created to learn about the creation process. After the Hackathon finishes, there will most likely be no further development. However, using what was learned in the process, each member of our group will continue to make new projects. We will build these new projects on the knowledge that was gained from this project.
