Inspiration

As someone with ADHD, I’ve always found it difficult to keep up with my friends in school. Staying focused for long periods, switching between tasks, and managing time effectively has always been a struggle. Most productivity tools I tried felt too strict, boring, or unrelatable.

That’s what inspired me to create "Tiger Time" - a study website built for people like me who need both structure and stimulation. The idea is simple: sometimes you need a calm, focused environment; other times, you need chaotic brainrot energy to push through. The tiger mascot represents strength, discipline, and a bit of cuteness - a symbol of the balance between staying fierce and having fun.

How I Built It

  • TigerTime was built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It features:
    • Pomodoro Timer – for structured, time-based study sessions
  • Task Creator – to track what you need to get done
  • Motivational Quote Generator – from wholesome to chaotic
  • Music Player – for both chill and energetic focus
  • Two Modes: +Calm Mode – a clean, minimal study interface
  • Brainrot Mode – chaotic background videos, floating images, Gen Z humor, and overstimulating visuals
  • Each mode is designed to match the user’s mood or mental state, giving them control over how they want to study. ## What I Learned
  • This project helped me grow not just as a developer, but as a person. I learned to:
  • Empathize deeply with others who have ADHD or health challenges
  • Design with neurodiversity and accessibility in mind -Use CSS animations and layering for dynamic visuals
  • Build clean, responsive layouts and interactive elements in JavaScript
  • Balance functionality with fun, and chaos with clarity
  • Most importantly, I realized that effective tools should adapt to people’s real needs — not force everyone into a rigid system. ## Challenges I Faced -Managing the balance between usability and chaos in Brainrot Mode
  • Ensuring the Pomodoro timer remained functional with multiple media elements
  • Debugging visual layering issues with floating images and background video
  • Staying focused while building a tool to help with focus — an ironic but real challenge
