Inspiration

In my younger years I was a boy scout and one of my favorite activities was hiking. As I aged out of the scouts and went to college I was separated from my hiking partners and was left with no one to go hiking with and I wasn’t going to go alone because if there’s one thing I learned in scouts is the power of the buddy system!

What it does

Each trail tells a unique story like the Freedom trail in the Boston Common and it’s historic relevance being America's oldest public park as well as taking you on a tour of Boston’s most historic landmarks. This app provides a gateway into unlocking the full potential of trails and the experiences that people can have if they allow themselves to be more adventurous and free.

How we built it

We built this app using HTML; much of the website's framework is straight HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, all done in VS Code.

Challenges we ran into

One main challenge was that we are new to hackathons and specifically to coding using HTML so it was tough but very worthwhile to learn the syntax and in the end create a nice interface.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're so proud of how much HTML, JavaScript, and CSS knowledge we have gained and though it seemed tough at the halfway point, we were still able to create something that we're proud of.

What we learned

This was truly a wonderful experience and so many other groups were able to teach us about this industry, as well as of course the sponsors who provided us with useful workshops.

What's next for Timbur

We hope to create an app that can be used hand-in-hand with our website to attract more users and explore the possibilities of the amazing communities we can create.
