Inspiration
Our inspiration was wanting to do something with both retro and modern and combine the ideas. Music was something we thought of, but we didn't just want to do that, we want to have a visual aspect to it as well.
What it does
Our website is an audio converter to different types of music like nightcore or lo-fi. One side is retro shown by the boombox and the other is modern shown by the computer with speakers. It's browser based so you just have to upload a file, and it doesn't go to a server.
How we built it
We built it using react.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a lot of styling challenges trying to get exactly what we wanted, and what we saw in our heads. Also making sure the audio part worked right and sounded how it was supposed to sound like.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how the website looks, and how smooth the animations and slider is. We've never built something like this before. When we started we had a small and really rough sketch, but it actually turned out how we wanted. We are also really proud that the audio part actually works, rather than not working completely, like some of our past projects.
What we learned
We learned a lot about react and how audio works in react. We also learned a lot about different css styling options and how we can use that to make something look really cool. We also learned a lot about branchs on github and how to take care of pull requests and what to do when you mess up a merge.
What's next for TimelessSound
Adding more sound features and improving other current features. Also updating styling until we deem it exactly how we want it to be.
