Inspiration

We started this project since half of our team did not know how trading worked. We spoke of credit cards, debit cards, certificate deposits, interest rates, 401ks, and all types of finances. We realized there was a gap between learning how to trade without having to invest REAL money.

What it does

Trade.it provides a platform for users to learn how to trade, compete against Gemini AI's trades, see the real-time live market, earn achievements, read articles, and test yourself on all things trading.

How we built it

We built it using React framework, Vite, and TSX (TypeScript JavaScript XML) programming language (combination of TypeScript + Javascript), Supabase Database, Gemini API, Finnhub API, SQL

Challenges we ran into

Challenges included issues with Supabase Setup and our API calls. Gemini API can be finnicky due to limits on how often it can be used without billing. The same applies for Finnhub . Incorporating Gemini into the project was difficult as the logs in Supabase showed tokens getting cut out. Supabase also requires some SQL in order to store data

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our integration of Finnhub since it shows real time stocks and is an extended and grander version of stock trading applications without the real money committment. Furthermore, we have challenges, articles, questions, quizzes, all of which are helpful in the gamification and education of young traders.
