Introducing TrafficForecast - A WordPress plugin that simplifies website analytics and provides beautiful, easy-to-understand data visualizations with the help of Tableau, one of the best tools for data representation. Our WordPress plugin can help small business, amateur bloggers, and small E-Commerce website scale exponentially and help them better concentrate and improve on what's important for their success. Given that it is just as easy as installing and creating a Tableau account, we believe its a must for everyone out there who is privacy focused and wants to grow towards success faster than others.

How we built it

Our extension was built using cutting-edge technologies such as Node.js, JavaScript, PHP, and the Tableau JavaScript API. By leveraging Node.js, we were able to provide a robust runtime environment that ensured the app's stability and scalability. Additionally, the Tableau JavaScript API allowed us to seamlessly integrate with Tableau Online, empowering our users to create dynamic visualizations from Websites.

Challenges we ran into

  • Integrating multiple technologies and implementing efficient user tracking.
  • Converting data from WordPress database and sending it to tableau online.
  • Tableau's JavaScript API was required for careful handling and transformation to ensure accurate and meaningful visualizations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-Accurate Activity Monitoring: Our WordPress plugin is able to develop a highly accurate traffic activity monitoring system that helped the website owners to know more about the website. -User-Friendly Interface: Our team developed a user-friendly interface that made it easy for our clients to access and visualize the data. -Seamless Integration: We were able to seamlessly integrate our WordPress Plugin with our clients' existing websites, making it easy for them to access and use the data. -Seamlessly integrating multiple technologies, including Node.js, PHP, and the Tableau's REST API, into a cohesive and robust application.

What we learned

  • Tableau's Api's and their working with their potential uses. -Proficiency in Cutting-Edge Technologies: Our team gained proficiency in Node.js, PHP, and the Tableau REST API, enabling us to develop a robust application for data analysis and visualization. -We successfully integrated multiple technologies and ensured seamless interoperability between them, enabling smooth data flow and interaction between different components. -We tackled challenges related to building the plugin and code optimization.

What's next for TrafficForecast

-ML Predictions: TrafficForecast could very well use ML to make predictions on the basis of user interactivity to tell the owner more insights of how he can make his website more interactive and increase traffic on the website. Currently the ML model is in development and the model still has to be fined tuned for accurate predictions. -More Seamless UI: As of now due to working with many new technologies TrafficForecast is still in its infancy stage. The final version of the plugin will surely automate the entire process and with tableau at its heart for visualizations, it will outgrow existing analytics tools.
