Inspiration
We are group of friends who enjoy playing games together online and also offline. From this we got the idea to create application that can create lobbies for offline games.
What it does
The main function of our appliciation is to connect lonely sport enthusiasts who strive for trying out new things with strangers/friends. Allows free registration for anyone who cares about sport in their life, and you can also make new friends by organising group activities without any preparation, and maybe create a new world for the future that could be better than the present one.
How we built it
We started from scratch, first of all we created the prototype in figma.com (prototype link lower) After that we recreated the components in React Native, and then we were able to think about the logics of the application. Backend was a need for us, so we tryed few solutions to create the backend, but in the end, we insisted that instead of using an existing built-in system, we designed the whole thing ourselves to speed up the work later on. Among the existing tools we tried to work in unified programs so we decided to use jetbrains products.
Challenges we ran into
In retrospect, I think the biggest problem was the integration of the map module, as we hadn't had anything like this before. (Google map API) Also, in the last embellishments, we tried to notify the user during certain scenarios, which also caused some headaches. (Firebase)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Considering that we had one week to build the app, I believe that we managed to integrate mostly all the planned features on time and we are proud of that.
What we learned
That life is short, and there are a lot of things on the earth that worth much more than winning money.
What's next for Trainbuddy
I think our app has a lot of potential, and it all depends on how motivated we are in the future to expand it and improve it. We believe that the future of trainBuddy depends only on us.
