Inspiration
For many students, transportation is big deterrent. A delayed and inaccurate transportation system messes up every passenger's schedule. As everyday users and New Yorkers of the MTA system we seek to improve the system, making it faster and smoother as possible for people to make better and more informed decisions.
What it does
Our program analyzes data from the transportation system system to make it faster, safer and more reliable. It seeks to show patterns of transportation delays and uses a time system for users to make more informed decisions.
How we built it
We used the Postman API, HTML, CSS and Python.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into is integrating the data using the api, in addition we had trouble with managing time and referencing webpages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We analyzed the data set and we made part of the website functional. We collaborated efficiently, gained real world experience, executed our knowledge of APIs and languages to our best abilities.
What we learned
Working under pressure, including a time limit. We learned more about the Postman API and collaboration with fellow group members.
What's next for our project
We want to finish working with the API to visualize the data and generate live time data. We want to place a time slider to show how delays change throughout the day. We want to implement our project to not only include Lehman college area but all five boroughs. In addition, link our website together and provide functionality.
