The maximal impact of minimal actions
The act of saving the environment can come from thoughtful small decisions. Treefter's mission is to help our users break into this new perspective. Aside from providing users with sustainability information on different clothing materials (carbon footprint, water footprint, labor source, and waste volume), Treefter plants a tree per every tag a user scanned using our interface. Our ultimate goal is to make sustainability a less foreign topic that one can take part in their ordinary routine. The hope is performing simple and high-reward tasks on our website would inspire individuals to think more frequently about their impact on the environment and gradually involve themselves in larger-scale actions in favor of world sustainability.

The importance of knowing your clothes' origins
Sometimes, hidden amongst your long tag is the marketer's secret poison to the environment. A tag can say that the shirt is made mostly from linen, a fairly environmentally-friendly fabric, but the rest of the material list contains materials such as polyester and nylon, both are major contributors of plastic waste. Our scanning technology helps you make better shopping decisions by detecting material names and their level of sustainability. This is determined by whether they are recyclable and how the main contributors of the material handle labor and resources: carbon footprint, water footprint, labor source, and waste volume.
