Inspiration
We were inspired by games like Osu, along with the tropical theme of Shell Hacks.
What it does
You control a cat holding a basket (moving left and right using W and D respectively). Once the fruits go inside of the basket, it adds to your overall score. The computer also tracks the number of fruits you collected in a row. Scores from the game are viewable on an online leader board.
How we built it
We built it using "Pixilart" to create the sprites and Unity for the actual game.
Challenges we ran into
None of us have never built a "rhythm" game before. We were not able to accurately match the fruit falling to the beat or change the fruit sprite on collision.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We love our fun and colorful art style.
What we learned
That games take a lot more work than we thought.
What's next for TropiCat
A full night's sleep (hopefully)
