Inspiration
Healthcare access in rural Philippine communities remains limited due to distance, lack of medical staff, and poor infrastructure. We were inspired to create a tool that leverages AI to bridge these gaps and bring timely care closer to people who need it most.
What it does
Tul.AI is an AI-powered platform where patients can report symptoms through voice, text, or image. The system converts these into medically formatted reports for healthcare workers, integrates location tracking for patient reachability, and provides an “Alaga Fund” feature that connects sponsors directly to patients and healthcare providers for transparent support.
How we built it
We developed Tul.AI using the GPT API to process patient inputs, hosted the platform on Vercel for scalability, and designed a dashboard for case tracking. Location services and donation transparency features were added to ensure both accessibility and accountability.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges in structuring patient inputs into accurate medical reports, balancing privacy with location tracking, and ensuring that the donation system remained transparent and trustworthy.

We successfully created a working prototype that transforms patient inputs into structured medical data, built a transparent sponsorship system, and designed a scalable solution that can truly impact rural healthcare.
What we learned
We learned how AI can be responsibly applied in healthcare, the importance of data privacy in sensitive applications, and how community support can be woven into technology to create sustainable impact.
What's next for Tul.ai
Next, we aim to partner with local government units and healthcare NGOs for pilot testing, improve diagnostic accuracy with more training data, and scale the “Alaga Fund” to connect more sponsors with rural patients in need.
