Inspiration

Our inspirations came from the uprising field of Spatial Computing, AR and AI as well as the lives of the animals we take for granted in our dying planet.

What it does

The TVRkey protects the wearer from the ever-increasing danger of solar radiation and heat caused by the exhaustion of human resources and pollution. Blending eye protection, sun protection, and ignorance, it allows the wearer to live a life superficial to reality. AR allows the user to augment the way they see reality allowing the wearer to escape the horrors of life while providing a new perspective the organic brain could never see.

How we built it

We built TVRkey using scrap and donated fabrics and combining various materials to form our final head dress. Mixed with technology of the present day to show the possibilities of the future.

Challenges we ran into

Our prototype was ambitious and beautiful. Alas, perfection is never possible, and we had to settle for what we could achieve with the tools given to us. The TVRkey was supposed to go through a more dramatic and theatrical transformation captivating any spectators. We had intended for the turkey to split open revealing its gory red insides that would serve as a head scarf to protect the wearers head. Alongside this red fabric would have also been a long ephemeral and flowy silver fabric that extends to protect the full body from harmful solar rays and reflecting heat.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The TVRkey turned out amazing and glorious. While the transformation is not as dramatic it still has some gag factor to it. Our design is outlandish and breaks any present-day social norms. What may look ridiculous today may become tomorrow's fashion statement.

What we learned

We learned that zippers are quite hard to deal with and intricate designs require a lot more skill we do not have.

What's next for TVRkey

More technological breakthroughs to utilise the space and existing technology inside. With facial recognition, threat recognition and a sensor array, the TVRkey could potentially help alert the wearer about danger, malicious intent or hazardous environments. The TVRkey can also become a new form of self-expression changing designs based on the user's moods and intentions given a new depth and complexity to the human emotion.
