Inspiration

We wanted to use our knowledge on US history to help US enthusiast gain more knowledge on political parties in the past and present through machine learning (Brain.js), quizzes, references, and output according to the user's input.

What it does

We began by creating a neural network with machine learning that gives outputs such as references according to the users input. For example, the user can give a quote and the neural network will define the Political Leaders (Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, John F. Kennedy, and Richard Nixon) that are most associated with that particular input. This will give us a comparison of the past political ideologies and present issues. Also, we have 2 different quizzes that the users can take to determine which party the user is most similar to.

How we built it

We built our project by using coding languages such as html, javascript, css, and node.js(brain.js). We used the the code editor vscode to write our code. To solve problem we ran into we used google to search up the problems.

Challenges we ran into

We had a virtual machine set up through google. However google started to have problems with their virtual machines. So we lost many lines of code. Which we had to re code. Also we couldn't set up tensor flow on one of our computers so we had to scratch one of our ideas and start with something totally new that is relevant to what we are creating.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accomplishment we are proud of is being able to complete most of our project in the 9 hour allotted time. We have little to no knowledge of brain.js and we were able to understand this in an hour and incorporate it into our project.

What we learned

We learned to manage time efficiently, how neurons fire in our neurons network, and how past politics relate to modern ideas.

What's next for uhdemy

We would like to host an image recognizer that compares your facial similarities to other political leaders and show a percentage of which political party the user is closely related to.
